If you are an undocumented family member of a military member, you may qualify for military parole in place. Stay in the U.S. while you pursue legal permanent residence

Military Parole in Place (PIP) is a discretionary program that gives the opportunity for qualified undocumented family members to obtain legal permanent residency without leaving the country.

IHF reviews your case to determine eligibility, reviews the evidence required to present alongside the application, and prepares the application itself.

You may qualify if you meet all of the criteria below. If you are unsure about any of them, schedule an eligibility consultation and we will go through it with you.

Who qualifies

  • You are the spouse, widow/widower, parent, or son or daughter (of any age or marital status) of a U.S. military member.
  • You entered the U.S. without inspection (no visa, no admission, no parole).
  • You do not have a final order of removal.
  • You have no disqualifying criminal history.
  • You can show evidence of the relationship.

What does IHF cost?
We do an eligibility screening to understand your situation before any fees are set. We use a sliding-scale fee based on your income. We tell you the cost upfront and help you apply for a USCIS fee waiver if you qualify.
Who in my family can apply?
Undocumented spouses, widows/widowers, parents, and sons or daughters of any age or marital status of the military sponsor may be eligible. Each family member's case is reviewed separately.
Does this work if I overstayed a visa?
Military Parole in Place is specifically for people who entered the U.S. without inspection. If you entered legally and overstayed, a different path may apply. Come in and we will review your situation.
What happens after Military PIP is approved?
Approval creates an opportunity for a pathway to legal permanent residence. IHF can walk you through the next steps in that process after your parole is granted.
